§ 11.01. The provisions of the International Energy Conservation Code, 2015 edition, published by the International Code Council, 4051 West Flossmoor Road, Country Club Hills, IL 60478, is hereby adopted regulating and governing energy efficient building envelopes and installation of energy efficient systems for buildings and structures with the following amendments.
(A) C101.1/ R101.1 Title. The Jurisdiction shall be the City of Eldridge, Iowa.
(B) R402.1.1 Vapor Retarder. Delete in its entirety.
(C) Table R402.1.2 Insulation and fenestration requirements by component. Change “Climate Zone 5 Fenestration U-Factor” from “.32” to “.35”, “Skylight U-Factor” from “.55” to “.60”, “Ceiling R Value” from “R49” to “R38”, “basement wall value” from “R15/19” to “R 10/13” and “Crawl Space Wall Value” from “15/19” to “10/13”. Footnotes shall be amended to match the above values.
(D) Table R402.1.4 Equivalent U-Factors. Change “Climate Zone 5 Fenestration U-Factor” from “.32” to “.35”, “Skylight U-factor” from “.55” to “.60”, “Ceiling U-factor” from “.026” to “.030”, “basement Wall U-factor” from “.50” to “.59” and “Crawl Space Wall U-Factor” from “.055” to “.065”. Footnotes shall be amended to match the above values.
(E) R402.4.1.2 Testing. Add to beginning of the section “When required by the Building Official”. Change “three air changes per hour” to “seven air changes per hour”.
(F) R402.4.2 Fireplaces. Delete section.
(G) R403.3.1 Duct Insulation (prescriptive) Delete section and replace with “R403.3.1 Duct Insulation (prescriptive) Supply ducts in attics shall be insulated to a minimum of R-8. All other ducts shall be insulated to a minimum of R-6. Exception - Ducts or portions thereof located completely inside the Building Thermal Envelope”.
(H) R403.3.3 Sealing Duct testing. Add to beginning of the section “When required by the Building Official”.
(I) R403.3.5 Building Cavities. Add the word “supply” after “as”.
(J) R403 Systems. Delete R403.5 through R403.12 in their entirety.
(K) Table C402.1.3 Opaque Thermal Envelope Insulation Component Minimum requirements, R-Value Method. (Q) C404.11 Service Water- Heating System Commissioning. Delete section in its entirety.
