§ 7.00 GAS MAIN AND SERVICES.
   Gas mains and services installed in the city shall be of the ferrous metal type or plastic type approved for that use. If plastic gas mains and services are installed, the following shall be required.
§ 7.01.   A locating wire of the type T.W. #12 minimum, solid copper, shall be installed in the same trench as the main or service near the bottom.
§ 7.02.   A yellow warning tape, four inches wide, shall be installed 12 to 16 inches below finished grade level.
§ 7.03.   Plastic gas mains shall be installed within rigid metal conduit, or other casing as may be required by the City Public Works Department, when the gas main is located under or crosses under any public street, private street, alley, railroad and the like and where the main crosses over or under any water main, sewer main, underground electric utility or other public utility. Conduit shall be right-of-way to right-of-way when possible.
§ 7.04.   Plastic gas mains shall meet ASTM Standard D-2513, or as may be required or approved under the auspices of the State Commerce Commission, and all other local, state or federal codes and regulations.
