The purpose of this chapter is to beautify and preserve the appearance of the city, by requiring street trees to be uniformly located and maintained. The primary responsibility for maintaining street trees is placed upon the abutting property owner or his or her agent, but the Street Superintendent shall personally supervise any cutting or trimming of said trees.
