(a) The Village of Edon hereby establishes an inspection program for golf carts. The Chief of Police shall be responsible for operating the inspection program. If the Chief of Police or the Chief’s designee determines that the golf cart complies with the minimum State of Ohio statutory requirements applicable to motor vehicles, then the Chief or the Chief’s designee shall issue the owner a certificate of compliance entitling the owner to secure license plates.
(b) The Chief of Police shall establish a reasonable fee for the performance of the inspections required herein and said fee shall be payable prior to any certificate of compliance being issued.
(c) The Chief of Police may require an annual follow-up inspection of all golf carts to insure continued compliance with all provisions of this chapter.
