(A) The Town Marshal is hereby authorized to appoint and use up to 20 police reserve officers hereafter known as Town Marshal Reserve Officers.
(B) Provided that, the Town Marshal reserve officers may not be members of the regular Town Marshal Department that shall have all the same powers as the regular members, except as limited by rules of the department.
(C) The Town Marshal reserve officers shall receive the following:
(1) A uniform allowance; and
(2) Insurance for life, accident and sickness.
(D) The Town Marshal reserve officers shall not make an arrest, conduct a search of person or property or carry a firearm unless the Town Marshal reserve officer pursuant to IC 5-2-1-9(f) completes a pre-basic training course.
