§ 34.26  SEVERANCE PAY.
   (A)   Pursuant to IC 36-1-3-1 et seq., commonly known as the “Home Rule” statute, that it is necessary to have for and on behalf of the town a policy relating to severance pay related to town employees for the effective operation of government as to local affairs.
   (B)   In order to promote effective transition of management employees and provide the necessary benefits attributable to such a management position and for the orderly transition of management services as it relates to the effective operation of government it is necessary to allow the municipality to pay lump sum severance pay benefits as determined on the appropriate basis by the Town Council.
   (C)   All powers provided pursuant to Home Rule are hereby invoked for the purpose of exercising authority to carry out the terms and conditions of termination of employment with town employees in an orderly and efficient manner.
