§ 50.02  NOTICE TO CITY CLERK/TREASURER AND PUBLIC UTILITY.
   (A)   Any person, company, or corporation doing any excavation within the city shall notify the City Clerk/Treasurer and it shall be unlawful for any person, company, or corporation to excavate any ground within the city without first determining whether there are underground utility lines in the excavation area. All public utilities operating within the city shall provide the Clerk/Treasurer with the current address and telephone number.
   (B)   All inquiries relating to underground facilities shall be directed to this designated address and telephone number. No person shall excavate any ground within the city without first making inquiries to said public utility as to the location, if any, of any of its underground facilities in the area to be excavated.
   (C)   If a public utility has underground lines within the area to be excavated, it shall, with promptness, locate the same for the party planning the excavation.
