The practice of being in or upon private residences, business establishments and offices in the city for the purpose of soliciting orders for the sale of goods, wares, merchandise, or services and/or peddling or hawking the same, by persons who have not been invited or requested to do so by the owner or occupant of such premises, is hereby declared to be a nuisance and punishable, upon conviction thereof, as provided in section 1-4-1 of this code.
