The chief of police or his or her designee is hereby authorized to immediately tow away, or cause to be towed away, any vehicle on any public street, public place, or private property at any time:
(A) When the vehicle is an abandoned vehicle on city property as defined herein;
(B) When the vehicle is a hazardous vehicle as defined herein;
(C) When the vehicle is a seized vehicle as defined herein:
(D) When the vehicle is a vehicle having evidentiary value as defined herein;
(E) When a vehicle is on private residential property and is parked there without consent of the property owner, proprietor or agent of the property, provided:
1. That signs approved by the city posted on the property give notice that parking is prohibited; and
2. That the person requesting the tow signs a statement that he is the owner, proprietor, or agent of the property with the authority to request the tow. (Ord. 17-18, 10-2-2017)
