8-1-24: DISCHARGE OF WATER:
   (A)   Prohibited: The owner or occupant of property abutting a public right of way, or any other person acting as agent for either, shall not discharge water originating from sumps, sump pits, sump pumps or other pumps or any reservoir serving as a drain or receptacle for water, onto a street, alley, or other public right of way so as to cause a hazardous accumulation of water or ice upon said right of way.
   (B)   Notification: The Director of Maintenance Services shall give written notice of violation to the owner or occupant of the property from which the water is discharged. Said notice shall direct said owner or occupant to abate the discharge within thirty (30) days. If the discharge of water continues after thirty (30) days, the violation shall be subject to prosecution by the City Attorney and to the penalties of this provision.
   (C)   Penalties: Any person who shall violate this provision shall be punished by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) and not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00). Each day which such violation occurs shall constitute a separate violation. (Ord. 98-27, 7-20-1998)
