The city will require a minimum of three (3) inspections during the installation of the "standards and techniques", which will be made concurrently with typical ground work/precover/final building or plumbing inspection request; and to include: a) "prepour": prior to basement or crawl space pour, an inspection of the installation of the plastic T- fitting, and the installation of the polyethylene sheeting over the gas permeable (clean aggregate or sand) layer, b) "precover": prior to wall covering, an inspection of the vent pipe installation as it passes vertically through the walls and into the attic space including the roof penetration and, c) "final inspection": to verify all applicable work has been completed. The city will identify the vent piping installation with labels which clearly read "RADON REDUCTION SYSTEM" and "NO PLUMBING-DO NOT USE" so as to be easily identified for future reference, and not to be confused with household plumbing system components.
