It shall be unlawful for any person to smoke, attempt to light or to smoke any cigarette, cigar or other form of tobacco in such a manner as to carelessly, recklessly or negligently set fire to any bedding, furniture, curtains, drapes or any household fittings in any sleeping room or rooms of any hotel, rooming house, lodging house or other place of public abode, so as to endanger life or property in any way.
