6-1-7: DETECTIVE BUREAU:
There is hereby created a division of the police department to be known as the detective bureau, which shall have supervision of all matters pertaining to the investigation of criminal matters. The detective bureau shall be composed of a lieutenant who shall serve as officer in charge of the detective bureau, and such other subordinate officers as the chief of police shall assign to such detective bureau as are considered qualified by experience and training to properly perform the functions of said office. The chief of police may remove such officer from assignment to the detective bureau if in the opinion of the chief of police such officer is not properly performing his duties. The members of said bureau shall be under the general supervision and direction of the chief of police and be subject to the same rules and regulations as other members of the police department.
