Except as exempted, no mechanical system regulated by this chapter shall be installed, altered, replaced, or remodeled unless a separate mechanical permit is first obtained from the plumbing inspector.
Any person, firm or corporation desiring to engage in the business of the installation or maintenance of heating, air conditioning or ventilation equipment in the City of East Moline shall file with the City Clerk a compliance bond, with the form thereof furnished by the plumbing inspector, in the amount of ten thousand dollars ($10,000.00), conditioned upon the faithful performance of all the provisions of the Mechanical Code, as most recently adopted and a copy of the contractor's current license.
