The purpose of the committee is to create a healthier and safer East Moline through promotion of multimodel transportation.
The committee will plan and implement concepts and projects which promote, but are not limited to:
Bicycle networks and routes.
"Complete streets".
Interconnection of pedestrian, bicycle, transit and vehicle routes as part of the intermodal and "multimodel" transportation system.
Interconnection of trails and networks to other cities and counties.
Pedestrian and bicycle bridges.
Pedestrian pathways.
Promote plans and concepts to interconnect with other forms of transportation including, but not limited to, school and public bus routes, water taxi facilities, rail terminals and airport terminals.
Safe routes to schools.
Shared use trails.
Sidewalks.
The committee shall cooperate and interact with:
Activate quad cities.
Bistate regional commission/Bistate trails committee.
Illinois department of transportation.
Illinois safe routes to school programs.
League Of American Bicyclists.
League Of Illinois Bicyclists.
Quad Cities Bicycle Club.
Quad cities transportation advocacy group.
River Action, Inc.
