505.19  ATTACKS BY DOGS; KEEPER'S RESPONSIBILITY; EXCEPTION.
   (a)    No person shall keep or harbor any animal which bites or ferociously attacks any person, such animal at the time of biting or the attack being in or upon any sidewalk, street or public ground or in or upon any lot or premises within the City other than that occupied by the person keeping or harboring such animal.
   The provisions of this section shall not extend to any case where any person shall break or enter without permission into any house, lot or enclosure, and shall be pursued therefrom by any such animal, and bitten or attacked in the manner described in this section.
   (b)    Whoever violates this section is guilty of a misdemeanor of the first degree. In case of conviction of any person under this section, it shall be the duty of the Chief of Police or the Animal Control Officer, upon order of the East Liverpool Municipal Court to cause such dog to be killed. For this purpose, it shall be lawful for such officer to enter any lot, house or enclosure within the City.  (Ord.  27, 1999.  Passed 5-17-99.)
