1501.04  FIRE INSPECTOR; ENFORCEMENT; RIGHT OF ENTRY AND PERMIT FEES.
   (a)   There is hereby created the position of Fire Inspector in the Fire Department.  This position shall be filled by appointment by the Director of Public Service-Safety.  The Fire Inspector shall be under the direction and supervision of the Fire Chief and shall enforce the Fire Prevention Code.  In the performance of his official duties, the Fire Inspector shall have authority, upon proper identification, to enter any building, structure or premises at any reasonable hour to make inspections and ascertain compliance with such Code.  The Fire Inspector shall maintain all necessary inspection reports and records as the Fire Chief may direct.  The position of Fire Inspector shall be a full-time position in the classified service, to be filled by competitive promotional examination.  The Fire Inspector shall work a forty hour week.  In the absence of a fire inspector, the Fire Chief shall conduct the inspections.
   (b)   The following fees shall be charged for the issuance of permits required by the Code:
(1)   Use of torch or other flame producing device to remove paint from a building

   Storage in excess of 2,500 cubic feet gross volume of combustible packing cases, boxes, rubber tires, cork, etc. upon any premises

(2)   Fire protection systems.
   Installation of fire protection system upon approval of the plans and specifications, which permit may become invalid if work is not started within 30 days or there is any false  statement or  misrepresentation in the application for or in plans submitted for approval

   For a person to perform fumigation or thermal insecticidal fogging

(11)   Ovens and furnaces.
   For industrial processing ovens operating at an atmospheric pressure and temperature not exceeding 700 degrees F. which are heated with oil or gas fuel or which, during operations, contain flammable vapors

(12)   Places of assembly.
   For the operation of a  place of assembly which can accommodate 50 or more individuals

(13)   Service stations and garages.
   For a person to use a  building, shed or enclosure as a place of business for servicing or repairing a motor vehicle

(14)   Tents and air supported structures.
   For a tent or air supported structure 120 square feet or larger which is intended to be used by ten or more persons (tents used for recreational camping shall be exempt)
