§ 9.102 ADOPTION OF INTERNATIONAL FIRE PREVENTION CODE BY REFERENCE.
   (A)   Pursuant to the provisions of § 3(k) of Public Act 279 of 1909 as amended, being M.C.L.A. § 117.3(k), the International Fire Code, 2015 Edition, including all appendices as promulgated and published by the International Code Council (ICC), is hereby adopted as the Fire Code for the city regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided, and providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefor. The geographic limitations referred to in §§ 3404.2.9.5 and 3406.2.4.4 of the 2015 International Fire Code wherein storage of Class I and Class II Liquids in above-ground tanks outside of buildings is prohibited are hereby established as the entire city.
   (B)   The following sections of the 2015 International Fire Code are hereby revised:
      (1)   Section 101.1: Insert City of East Grand Rapids;
      (2)   Section 109.3: Insert Misdemeanor, $500, and 90 days; and
      (3)   Section 111.4: Insert Misdemeanor, $500, and 90 days.
   (C)   In the event of a conflict between the provisions of the International Fire Code and the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of this chapter shall prevail. Complete printed copies of the International Fire Code, herein adopted, are available for public use and inspection at the office of the City Clerk.
