In the case of the absence from the city of the Police Chief, or his or her disability, or inability from any cause to act as Police Chief, the Deputy Police Chief shall act as Chief. In case of the absence, disability or inability from any cause of both the Police Chief and the Deputy, the City Manager shall designate and appoint some other member of the Police Department to act as Chief during such absence or disability.
