No private swimming pool or other pool shall be erected nearer than ten feet to any lot line; provided, however, that where there are practical difficulties or unnecessary hardship in the carrying out of the strict requirements relating to location, the Board of Zoning Appeals, after public hearing, shall have the power to authorize the location of such pool nearer than ten feet to any lot line, provided that all other requirements of this chapter shall be complied with and provided that said Board of Zoning Appeals may impose such further conditions as it deems requisite for the protection of adjoining owners and of the public in connection with the granting of such variance. The filing of an application for variance, the giving of public notice of the hearing thereon, and all other procedures in connection therewith, shall be in the manner provided in Article XII of the city’s zoning ordinance.
