Any person whose property is serviced by a water meter which has been installed in a meter pit in a street which is adjacent to or part of his or her premises shall be responsible for all repairs to said meter pit and shall indemnify and save harmless the city against all costs, liability or damages to it resulting from such meter pit being defective or out of repair.
