The purpose of this chapter is to supplement existing ordinance provisions to empower certain city officials to issue and serve appearance tickets for violations of the city ordinances which contain criminal misdemeanor penalties for violations of the ordinance involved. This chapter is enacted pursuant to Public Act 175 of 1927, being M.C.L.A. §§ 764.1 et seq. as amended by Public Act 506 of 1980, Public Act 445 of 1994 and Public Act 366 of 1984, being M.C.L.A. §§ 764.9c and 764.9f, as amended, and Public Act 49 of 1988, being M.C.L.A. § 764.9f, as amended.
