§ 32.05 PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.
   (A)   There is hereby established an administrative department of the village to be known as the Public Works Department, which shall consist of a Director of Public Works and other employees that may be provided from time to time by the Board of Trustees.
   (B)   The Office of Director of Public Works is hereby created. The Director of Public Works shall be appointed on the recommendation of the Village Administrator by the President of the village, acting with the consent of the Board of Trustees.
      (1)   The Director of Public Works shall enforce the ordinances of the village relating to streets and sidewalks, the water works and sewerage system of the village and all matters relating to the construction, maintenance and operation of the physical properties of the village. He or she shall attend all regular meetings of the Board of Trustees and special meetings, as requested. He or she shall perform other duties as assigned by the Village Administrator, as are prescribed by ordinance or as directed by the Board of Trustees.
      (2)   The salary of the Director of Public Works shall be in an amount as set by the Village Board.
      (3)   The Director of Public Works shall have the power to compile, publish and enforce the rules and regulations and any amendments thereto.
   (C)   Employees of the Public Works Department shall be hired, on the recommendation of the Director of Public Works, by the Village Administrator.
   (D)   The Public Works Department shall be divided under the Director of Public Works into the following divisions thereof:
      (1)   Division of Water, supervised by a chief operator, which shall operate and maintain the village water system and perform such other duties as assigned by the Director;
      (2)   Division of Sewer, supervised by a chief operator, which shall operate and maintain the village sewer system and perform such other duties as assigned by the Director; and
      (3)   Division of Street and Sanitation, supervised by a crew chief, which shall maintain adequate drainage, all streets, sidewalks, bridges and off-street parking lots and other village properties and perform such other duties as assigned by the Director.
