§ 32.02 BUILDING DEPARTMENT.
   (A)   There is hereby established as an administrative department of the village to be known as the Building Department, which shall consist of the Building Inspector and other members that may be provided from time to time by the Board of Trustees.
   (B)   The Building Inspector shall be hired by the Village Administrator.
      (1)   The Building Inspector shall enforce the ordinances of the village relating to the construction and maintenance of building and the zoning regulations and shall supervise all other inspectors. He or she shall attend all regular meetings of the Board of Trustees and special meetings, as requested. He or she shall perform other duties as are prescribed by ordinance or directed by the Board of Trustees.
      (2)   The salary of the Building Inspector shall be in an amount set by the Village Board.
      (3)   The Building Inspector shall have the power to compile, publish and enforce rules and regulations and any amendments thereto.
   (C)   (1)   An Electrical Inspector shall be hired, on the recommendation of the Building Inspector, by the Village Administrator.
      (2)   The Electrical Inspector shall enforce the ordinances of the village relating to the electrical equipment and electrical installations in the village and shall report to the Building Inspector. He or she shall perform other duties as are assigned by the Building Inspector, as are prescribed by ordinance or as directed by the Board of Trustees.
   (D)   (1)   A Plumbing Inspector shall be hired, on the recommendation of the Building Inspector, by the Village Administrator.
      (2)   The Plumbing Inspector shall enforce the laws of the state relating to plumbing installations in the village and connections to the water and sewer systems of the village.
      (3)   He or she shall approve the issuance of plumbing permits and he or she shall inspect, supervise and approve all plumbing work done within the village. He or she shall be the administrative authority of the Illinois State Plumbing Code adopted by this code and shall report to the Building Inspector.
      (4)   He or she shall perform other duties as assigned by the Building Inspector as are prescribed by the Board of Trustees.
   (E)   (1)   A Fire Inspector shall be hired, on the recommendation of the Building Inspector, by the Village Administrator.
      (2)   The Fire Inspector shall enforce the ordinances of the village relating to the safeguard of life, property of public welfare from hazards of fire and explosion and enforce the provisions of the Fire Prevention Code as adopted by the code and shall report to the Building Inspector. He or she shall perform other duties as assigned by the Building Inspector, as are prescribed by ordinance or as directed by the Board of Trustees.
