§ 31.19 VILLAGE ENGINEER.
   (A)   Appointment. The Village Engineer shall be appointed by the Village President, with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees, for a term of one year commencing on the first Monday in May of each year. The Village Engineer shall hold his or her office for the term and until his or her successor shall be appointed qualified.
   (B)   Duties. The Village Engineer shall perform the duties from time to time assigned and directed to him or her by the Board of Trustees. He or she shall give advice and counsel to the Board on an engineering matter pertaining to village affairs. He or she shall attend all regular and special meetings of the Board of Trustees upon request.
   (C)   Compensation.
      (1)   The Village Engineer shall be paid such compensation as the Board of Trustees may from time to time, by resolution, provide.
      (2)   The compensation for the service, as herein provided, shall be paid the Village Engineer immediately following the approval by the Board of Trustees of a claim presented therefore.
