The Board of Trustees shall be elected at a general election for a term of four years and shall serve until their successors are elected and have qualified. The inauguration of newly elected Trustees shall occur at the first regular or special meeting of the corporate authorities in the month of May following the election. Three of the six Trustees shall be elected in each odd-numbered year.
