The standards and specifications stated in this subchapter for materials and construction pertain to sidewalk construction within the village as part of a village-wide sidewalk replacement program, public sidewalks funded by adjoining property owners, and in areas of new subdivisions or other development. In all the areas except park areas, Portland cement concrete sidewalk shall be the standard requirement. Even though asphalt sidewalks are encouraged in park areas for economics, concrete sidewalks are permitted.
