10-6-1: DEFINITIONS:
The following words, terms and phrases, when used in this chapter, shall have the meanings ascribed to them in this section, except where the context clearly indicates a different meaning.
 
LIENHOLDER OF RECORD:
Any person having a lawfully recorded lien on a vehicle as registered with the Illinois Secretary of State.
OWNER OF RECORD OF A VEHICLE:
The record title holder as registered with the Illinois Secretary of State.
TOW TRUCK:
A motor vehicle which has been altered or designed and equipped for and exclusively used in the business of towing vehicles by means of a crane, tow bar, tow line or dolly, or is otherwise exclusively used to render assistance to other vehicles.
TOWING SERVICE:
A company or provider whose primary business is the provision of tow truck services in response to a dispatch or request from the police department or any other municipal department.
TRUCK:
Any truck weighing over ten thousand (10,000) pounds. (Ord. 21-0110, 1-11-2021)
