§ 101.09  MASCULINE AND FEMININE TERMS IN ORDINANCES; EQUALITY.
   It is the policy of the city to make no distinction between men and women, in connection with rights of employees and officers, in all matters of hiring, promotion and other matters relating to employment with the city. Any city ordinance written in the masculine shall be interpreted to include the feminine as well unless the content clearly indicates that a different interpretation was intended. Any city ordinance written in the feminine shall be interpreted to include the masculine as well unless the content clearly indicates that a contrary interpretation was intended.
