For the purpose of this chapter, the following words shall have the meanings respectively ascribed to them.
MOTOR VEHICLE.
Includes only passenger cars and trucks with a one-ton capacity rating or less.
PARK
or
PARKING.
The standing of a vehicle, whether occupied or not, upon the property herein described otherwise than temporarily for the purpose of, and while actually engaged in, receiving or discharging passengers or unloading merchandise or in obedience to traffic regulations, signs or signals.
PARKING METER.
Includes any mechanical device or meter not inconsistent with this chapter placed or erected for the regulation of parking by authority of this chapter.
PARKING METER SPACE.
Any space which is designated for the parking of a single vehicle by markings on the surface of the parking lot and adjacent to which a parking meter has been installed pursuant to the provisions of this chapter.
PERMIT PARKING SPACE.
Any space in a particular off-street parking lot reserved for those holding permits to park in that particular off-street parking lot.
