It is the city’s policy to monitor through this chapter the provision of cable television service to the citizens of the city in the general area of customer service. Specifically, these customer service standards are adopted pursuant to state law and § 632 (47 U.S.C. § 552) of the Cable Television Consumer Protection and Competition Act of 1992, being 47 U.S.C. §§ 521 et seq., as amended by the Telecommunication Act of 1996 being 47 U.S.C. §§ 551 et seq. (the “1992 Cable Act”, being 47 U.S.C. §§ 521 et seq.), and Federal Communications Commission regulations adopted thereunder.
