The bridge tenders shall immediately report to the Supervisor of Public Works all defective and dangerous places upon their respective bridges and the approaches thereto, which shall come to their notice, and in the performance of their duties they shall particularly examine the bridges and the approaches thereto and make the report as provided in this section.
