§ 34.041 OFFICER ABSENCE OR DISABILITY; ASSUMPTION OF DUTIES.
   In case of absence or disability of any officer of the fire force, all the power and authority of the officer shall devolve upon the officer next in rank, unless the vacancy shall be filled by direct or temporary appointment.
