§ 33.001 COMPOSITION.
   The police force of the city shall be a separate division of the Department of Public Safety and it shall be referred to and named as the Police Department. It shall consist of a Chief of Police and other positions, ranks, and divisions as may be provided for from time to time by the Board of Public Works and Safety.
