(A) (1) The Board of Health shall provide for, establish, and maintain a city chemical and bacteriological laboratory.
(2) The laboratory shall be used for the protection of public health and the suppression of disease, the analyses of the water and milk supplies of the city, the analyses of meat, foods, drugs, utensils, ice, beverages, the water at the beaches and swimming pools and other matters affecting the public health which the City Health Officer may deem necessary. A record shall be kept of analyses made.
(B) Whenever tests indicate that there have been violations of this code, of rules or regulations of the Board of Health, or of law or that the public health is endangered, the necessary steps shall be taken for prosecution for violations.
