Upon satisfactory completion of the examination given by the Plumbing Board, the applicant shall be furnished with a provisional certificate attesting his fitness as either a master plumber or journeyman plumber and authorizing him to engage in the trade of installing sanitary plumbing. A journeyman plumber, or a master plumber who has not held a valid journeyman's certificate issued by the city for at least one calendar year, shall serve a six months' period after satisfactory completion of the examination for the purpose of showing his ability to conform with the Plumbing Code before he is issued a permanent certificate.
