(A) Any person owning or allowing to remain within the city a canine deemed to be a possible threat to the safety of the citizens of the city in the event of an escape from its enclosure shall be required to pay a dangerous dog license fee of $150 per fiscal calendar year (July 1 through June 30) per dog. Records of all dangerous dog licenses issued shall be kept on file with the City Police Department and the City Clerk-Treasurer's office.
(B) Any person(s) purchasing a dangerous dog license shall maintain all legal liabilities for any personal or financial loss sustained by any person that comes into contact with the dangerous dog if it should escape from its enclosure.
(C) Absolutely no liability shall fall onto the city by the owner purchasing a dangerous dog license.
(D) Dangerous dog licenses shall be issued on a case-by-case basis as needed. The Chief of Police or City Clerk-Treasurer's office may issue licenses.
