   The Safety Board must receive, date, document, and distribute all correspondence addressed to it, to the Metropolitan Police Commission, the Police Department, the Police Chief, the Fire Department, or the Fire Chief. However, nothing in this Section prohibits Police or Fire Department staff from receiving and opening correspondence as part of conducting the daily affairs of the department.
