Sec. 7-70 Exemptions.
The Town and all political subdivisions thereof, the County of Lake, the State of Indiana, and the United States of America shall obtain all required permits prior to constructing, remodeling, renovating, improving, or demolishing any building or structure on their properties.
The Town and all political subdivisions thereof, the County of Lake, the State of Indiana, and United States of America shall be exempt from paying any fee for building permits, certificates of zoning compliance, and occupancy permits.
Religious organizations shall obtain all required permits prior to constructing, remodeling, renovating, improving, or demolishing any building or structure on their properties.

The Town and all political subdivisions thereof, the County of Lake, the State of Indiana, the United States of America, and religious organizations shall also be exempt from payment of the Town's portion of plumbing and electrical permit fees.
   (1)   All political subdivisions and religious organizations, or their contractors, shall be required to pay inspection fees to the plumbing and electrical inspectors.
   (2)   All political subdivisions and religious organizations, or their contractors, shall be required to pay the cost of sanitary and/or stormwater and water tap-in fees.
   (3)   The political subdivisions, religious organizations, or their contractors shall provide the Town of Dyer with a two (2) year performance bond or letter-of-credit, in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the estimated cost of Construction or improvements.
Indiana Public School Corporations may apply to the Town Council for an exemption from paying any fee for building permits, certificates of zoning compliance, and occupancy permits. The Town Council may, in its sole discretion, grant a full or partial exemption from said fees upon submission of a written request for the same.
