Sec. 2-187 Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund. 30
   (a)   The Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund is established for purchases made by the Dyer Police Department for equipment, supplies, continuing education, and law enforcement training for the Police Department.
   (b)   This fund is comprised of fees collected by the Dyer Police Department from the following activities:
      1.   Vehicle Inspections.
      2.   Accident Reports.
      3.   Proceeds from the sale of confiscated weapons.
      4.   All digitally recorded voice or image recordings including Body-Camera Footage.
   (c)   Before any money from this fund is spent, it must first be appropriated according to State Statute. (Ord. No. 93-22, 12-8-93)
   (d)   The funds accumulated in the Local Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund established must be used for continuing education and training of law enforcement officers employed by the Town. All expenditures must comply with the terms of the statute under the authority of which the Fund is created, and must be approved by the Chief of Police. (Ord. No. 87-15, § 3, 6-9-87)
   (e)   The funds placed in the Local Law Enforcement Continuing Education Fund may not be withdrawn except for the purposes provided in this section. (Ord. No. 87-15, § 4, 6-9-87; Am. Ord. No. 2022-02, §4, 1-13-22)
