It is declared to be the policy and purpose of the city to extend, at the earliest date, to the eligible employees and officials of the city the benefits of the system of Federal Old-Age and Survivor’s Insurance as authorized by the Federal Social Security Act, being 42 U.S.C. §§ 401 et seq., and all amendments thereto and 51 O.S. §§ 121 et seq. In pursuance of this policy, the officers and employees of the city shall take such action as may be required by applicable state or federal laws or regulations.
