§ 33.08 POLICE RECORDS.
   (A)   In addition to the authority granted in 11 O.S. § 22-131, the Chief of Police is designated the official custodian of police records and may destroy, sell for salvage, or otherwise dispose of the following papers, documents, and records after the expiration of the specified period of time following the end of the fiscal year in which the paper, document, or record was created, except as otherwise specified:
      (1)   One year. Parking citations, warning tickets, vehicle inventories, extra patrol request, wrecker logs, and pawn tickets, and all other documents and records not otherwise described herein;
      (2)   Two years. Time sheets, attendance records of police officers and employees, Uniform Crime Reports (UCR), dispatch logs, and 911 printouts;
      (3)   Five years. Accident reports, offense reports, traffic citations, Department reports, receipt books, sign in sheets, comp-time slips, vacation, and sick-leave records; and
      (4)   Indefinitely. All records, papers, or documents pertaining to allegations of murder, manslaughter, forcible rape, or robbery.
   (B)   No records, papers, or documents pertaining to pending litigation, juvenile, civil, or criminal, shall be disposed of until such litigation is finally terminated and sufficient time has elapsed for a final appeal.
