§ 33.05 APPOINTMENT TO POSITIONS.
   The Chief of Police is herewith authorized to appoint to the position of reserve police officer such persons and in such numbers as may be necessary and desirable for the preservation of the public peace and safety of the city. The persons so appointed shall have those qualifications prescribed by law as necessary for appointment to the position of police officers, and all persons appointed to the position of police reserve officers shall serve at the pleasure of the Chief of Police. It shall also be the duty of the Chief of Police to furnish standard instruction to all such individuals who shall volunteer as police reserves in the proper use of firearms, first-aid, and self-preservation.
