It is the duty of the Parks and Recreation Department to have charge of, control, operate, repair, maintain, and improve all parks, playgrounds, swimming pools, and other recreational facilities belonging to or under the control of the city. The Parks and Recreation Department may also program activities and oversee the scheduling of organized sports at facilities owned or leased by the city.
