Fire lanes in existence prior to the effective date of this subchapter shall be permitted to remain using existing signs so long as such signs are maintained in good repair and condition. If the fire chief determines that such signs are not maintained as required in this chapter, the fire chief shall require and order signage as provided in this section, subject to review and approval by the city engineer.
