A. The city traffic authority, subject to any directions given by the council by motion or resolution, is hereby authorized to determine and designate intersections upon other than through streets where particular hazards exist and to determine whether:
1. Vehicles shall stop at one or more entrances to any such stop intersection, in which event shall be cause to be erected a stop sign at every such place a stop is required; or
2. Vehicles shall yield the right of way to vehicles on a different street as provided in this code, in which event shall be cause to be erected a yield sign at every place where yield is required. (Prior code ch. 20)
