13-605: DEFINITIONS:
BASE LINE: Those lines which divide the City into identifiable sectors and which follow prominent major thoroughfares. In each case, one (1) base line runs east/west and the other one, north/south. Base lines intersect at a reference point.
DRIVEWAYS: A private way, beginning at the property line of a lot abutting a public street, private street, easement or private right-of-way, given access from that public street, private street or private right-of-way leading to a building, use or structure on that lot.
FRONTAGE UNIT: A standard interval in feet used to assign consecutive property numbers on a street. The standard front unit adopted for use throughout the City of Duncan is 5.28 feet.
OFFICIAL STREET NAMES: The street list name and the street map name on file with the City of Duncan 911 Addressing Office is hereby declared the official street names and map for the City of Duncan streets, unless changed by action of the City of Duncan Mayor and Council.
PRIVATE STREET: Any street, which is not maintained by the City of Duncan through the use of public funds.
REFERENCE POINT: The reference point for the City of Duncan addressing system is hereby designated at the point of the intersection of Main Street (north and south) and 1st Street (east and west).
STREET: A public or private one-way or two-way street for ingress and/or egress. Such street may be of various types including streets, rear access streets, streets with cul-de-sacs, and dead- end streets. The definition includes secondary streets, but does not include driveways.
STREET ADDRESS: The combination of numbers and street names assigned to a particular location by the City of Duncan 911 Addressing Office, according to this chapter, which uniquely identifies a particular location. (Ord. 1766, 3-14-2017)
