A. The city council by motion or resolution shall determine the fees to be charged for impounding and keeping animals. In computing the fee, a fraction of a day during which an animal has been fed shall be deemed a full day.
B. Any person redeeming an impounded animal shall pay the required fees to the appropriate person or office as designated by the city manager and present his receipt therefor to the person in charge of the animal shelter or its authorized agent before the latter releases the animal.
C. Written proof of a current rabies vaccination, or a prepayment receipt for a rabies vaccination, by a licensed veterinarian must be presented when redeeming an impounded animal from the animal shelter or its authorized agent. (Ord. 1510, 8-8-2000; amd. Ord. 1563, 3-25-2003; Ord. 1837, 12-13-2022)
