9-404: DUTY TO REPORT TO POLICE:
It is the duty of every junk dealer, keeper of a junk shop or dealer in secondhand goods, to make out and deliver to the chief of police, upon request, a legible and correct copy of any part or parts of the registry for any day or days in which goods have been received or purchased; provided that no junk dealer, keeper of a junk shop or secondhand goods shall be required to keep a registry or furnish such description of any property purchased from any person having an established place of business in the city, nor of goods sold at public sale; but such goods must be accompanied by a bill of sale or other evidence of open and legitimate purchase, and must be shown to any member of the police department when required.
