The hotel tax levied and imposed by this chapter shall remain in effect for a period of twenty (20) years, commencing on August 3, 2009, and ending on August 2, 2029, and shall be collected on all rent for every occupancy of a room or rooms in a hotel within this city on and between those dates. The effective dates and duration of the tax imposed by this chapter may be extended or changed by a majority vote of qualified electors of the city as provided by law. (Ord. 1673, 12-9-2008)
